Scott Sargent, CFP®, CMFC®

Background

My mission is to help my clients live comfortably and confidently in their retirement years.

For over three decades I have helped families address their financial concerns and develop strategies that are focused on their specific needs. With extensive experience in volatile markets, I have dedicated my career to providing comprehensive investment planning.

I graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics. The first 16 years of my career were spent at Morgan Stanley, and I have continued building my practice ever since — today as Founder and Managing Director of Three Points Wealth Planners. I hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification, as well as the Chartered Mutual Fund CounselorSM designation. For the 16 consecutive years (2010–2025), I have been recognized as a Platinum Council advisor for production, professionalism, and education by my former firm (Wells Fargo Advisors). I was also named a Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisor for 2026.

My practice has been built by forming long-term relationships based on trust. As your financial advisor, I will:

  • Act as your advisor, putting your interests first
  • Discuss and define your investment goals and objectives
  • Evaluate your risk tolerance and investment time horizon
  • Develop a comprehensive investment plan and asset allocation strategy to help you achieve your goals
  • Meet with you to review your plan

I grew up in Orange County, and my wife and I have lived in Laguna Niguel since 1996. Together we enjoy running, hiking, playing tennis and pickleball, and spending time with our four children.

Investment performance is not a criterion. Self-completed survey was used for rating. This rating is not related to the quality of the investment advice and based solely on the disclosed criteria.

The Platinum Council (previously known as Premier Advisor) distinction is held by a select group of Wells Fargo Financial Advisors as measured by completion of educational components, business production based on the previous year and professionalism.  The title is awarded each March, based on activity for the prior January 1 – December 31st period.  Additional criteria, adherence to best practices and team structure were also used to determine recipients.
